More Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers)

We're asked a great deal of questions about Wedding Videos, and so to help you, we've complied a list of the ones we are most frequently asked.

What if my church has restrictions on video?
It is always the couple's responsibility to find out if there are any restrictions on video recording wherever the event takes place and to notify us well in advance.  Many churches and synagogues have guidelines, such as no moving around during the ceremony, and understandably so.  Most venues realise the importance of a wedding video to the bride and groom and their families, and are very helpful in the positioning of cameras and access.

When will I get my finished video?
Normal production time is within 2 weeks after the event, although due to other work this can be up to a 1 month - although this is very rare.  We encourage everyone to gather all photos for the Photo Montage and get them to us before the wedding date; otherwise we find that waiting until after the event results in unnecessary delays.

Do you have a written contract?
Yes.  This is to protect both you and us, and is comprehensive and clear.  Our terms and conditions are set out on the reverse of our booking form.

Can I choose the background music for my DVD?
Yes.  In our Gold, Diamond and Platinum packages, your choice of music is included in the cost.  In the Pearl and Silver packages, we'll choose music from our selection of specially-written library music.

Are your prices negotiable?
No.  Our prices are based upon fixed costs, and therefore are not negotiable.  However, if you book a 2 camera shoot, and face financial difficulties, we'll gladly reduce it to 1 camera to save you money.

Will you attend the rehearsal?
If you want us to come to the rehearsal, we will be happy to, for an additional fee and subject to availability.  We are familiar with many sites in the Doncaster area, and if we haven't been to the venue before, we will visit it in our time.  We arrive in plenty of time prior to the start of the wedding anyway to view the venue and set up our cameras.

What are your payment terms?

Should I provide a meal for the cameramen?
We are on the job for sometimes up to 8 hours between the time we arrive at the ceremony and the time we leave the reception and so we do need a meal at some stage!  So we normally take an off-site meal break sometime during the reception.  If, however, you wish to provide a meal or a few sandwiches, that would be most welcome!

Why can't Uncle Ken tape it with his camcorder?
Making a professional video requires professionals - just like a trained mechanic is the best person to fix your car, a trained professional videographer will be able to call on years of experience in different situations to always deliver the best pictures and sound.   Besides, wouldn't Uncle Ken much rather be a guest?!
