Learn how to make better videos

Knowing what all the functions on your camcorder do isn't enough to make interesting and enjoyable videos.  That's why the next stage of the Nova Camcorder School Beginners' Course explains some of the basic rules of video and film-making.  We also look at how to record better sound, and how to plan your videos first to ensure better results when you do press the record button.

Discover basic home editing

Once you've planned and recording your video, you need to edit it.  This could mean simply copying your shots from the camcorder tape onto a full-size VHS tape - which we show you at the Nova Camcorder School - to actually editing a video together shot by shot, and finishing it off with music, a commentary and some titles - which we also show you how to do.  All of this can be as complex as you want it to be, and may not need any extra equipment.
