What is a Baby's First Years DVD?
A baby and a camcorder are a magical combination - one gives you pleasure and enjoyment, and the other reminds you of those memories later.

Most of us film many metres of tape or use many DVDs to record the first crawl, the first words, the first walk - but after watching the footage once, it gets put in the draw and forgotten about.

Nova's director, Andrew White, was determined this wouldn't happen to his footage of his girl Alannah - and so edited together a special DVD packed full of the important events of her first year.  He gave the DVD to Alannah's grandparents - who loved being able to see everything about her first year.  They then showed the DVD to fellow grandparents, and soon Andrew's new idea was a hit.

The unique aspect of the Baby's First Years DVD is that it much more than just a photo album - the DVD presents the events you filmed, professional edited, to make a fascinating journey through time, as your little one grows up.  It's a brilliant living record for the future, and makes a great present for family members, both near and far.

How do you go about making the DVD?
Making a concise, yet comprehensive DVD from your camcorder footage is an involved, but rewarding task...

• Firstly, you need to view all your camcorder tapes / DVDs you wish to include sections from.  Using the camcorder's counter, you write down the time and a brief description of the scenes you want to include.
  

• Then, send all that information, along with the tapes / DVDs to us.
  

• We'll then put all the footage onto our editing system, and using
  your instructions as a guide, we'll edit all the sections together - taking out all the bad shots of the floor etc… and leaving a professional, easy-to-watch programme, complete with transitions, effects and titles.
  

• Once all the sections are completed, we'll make the actual DVD - making the menus, adding chapter marks and authoring the finished disc.
